Biography

Mike Potts was born in Evanston, Illinois and spent the majority of his childhood in Wichita, Kansas. Throughout Mike’s childhood his aptitude for art and expression was prevalent in all his studies and activities. After graduating high school, a new and permanent component to his life was added as he embraced a commitment for working with youth and strived to learn and work in multiple social service fields. The impact of 9/11 inspired Potts to join the U.S. Army and after serving in Korea as a medic, he chose to return home and continue his commitment to the arts and social service. These experiences combined with his passion for the arts eventually led Potts to decide on a career that meshed the arts and the energy therein.
Mike is now "living the dream" of being able to have his lifelong passion become his life's work. And he has been blessed with the support of many individuals and organizations who have helped guide him personally and professionally. People like Bryan Albers and Kevin Schimke. Charities such as HopeNet, Victory Junction and The First Hand Foundation. And an entire community likes the great people of Bonner Springs. All of these deserve special thanks for their gracious contributions. Mike operates his studios in the Kansas City, Kansas and the Denver, Colorado area.
